drinks that include an ale.\n\nOur ceilidhs are for newcomers and experien
ced dancers alike. Our callers pride themselves on making first-timers welc
ome on the dance floor. They’ll tell you exactly what you need to do.\n\n
Come alone or with friends. Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner for
dances that need one. Just stick up your hand and it’s our caller’s jo
b to find you someone to dance with.\n\nIt’s important to us that our cei
lidhs are inclusive. The people who come to our dances are lovely – at le
ast we think so. Please read our Welcome to Rant - also included below. Ple
ase take a minute to read our Terms and Conditions before purchase.\n\n[tt-

Who's welcome?\n\nEveryone! Our ceilidhs are gender-free and inclusive. Our
caller will talk you through each dance\, so it doesn't matter if you've n
 ever been to a ceilidh before.\n\nCan I bring the kids?\n\nWe recommend 12+
for our ceilidhs.\n\nWho are Brighton Ceilidh Collective?\n\nWe're a group
of friends who've been putting on public ceilidhs in Brighton for over ten
years. We believe that ceilidh is a great way of bringing people together\
 , friends and strangers\, in a joyful environment.\n\nHelp. I can't come. C
an I refund my tickets?\n\nAs our Ts & Cs say\, our tickets are generally n
ot refundable\, but if you know you can't come let us know as soon as you c
an and we'll try get you a partial refund for your ticket by reselling it.
We can only do this when we have the capacity. We're always trying to keep
prices down for Rant so we HAVE to sell out to make these events work. That
means we can only offer partial refunds if we manage to re-sell your ticke
ts before the event.\n\nWill I be photographed?\nPlease note. We sometimes
take photos of our dancers for publicity purposes. It’s very understandab
le that not everyone wants their photographs appearing publicly. Please let
a member of the band know if you don’t want your likeness shared in our
publicity photographs.\n\nCan I share my photos of the dancing?\nOf course\
, but please only show faces of your friends. Some dancers may not want the
ir photos to be shared publicly. \n\nWelcome to Rant – please read.\n\nR
ant\, and all other Brighton Ceilidh Collective events\, are set up to be f
un\, friendly and welcoming social spaces for everyone.\n\nWe don’t have
many rules\, but the ones we have are important. The main rule is to make s
ure you and everyone else enjoys themselves. We want everyone to feel safe
and happy at our events. Cheesy as it sounds\, one of the things we love mo
st is to see everyone grinning helplessly as they dance around the floor…
\n\nWe have gender-neutral calling\, so anyone can dance with everyone\, at
any time. Note that even if you come along with a partner\, some dances wi
ll involve changing partners.\n\nMost people come to Rant to dance – that
’s what it’s for. Some people like to chat and socialise too\, but not
everyone. We ask that everybody respects each other’s personal wishes in
this regard.\n\nIt goes without saying that we also don’t tolerate any in
appropriate behaviour or insulting language. We know our lovely Ranters are
better than that\, but if anyone witnesses anything un-Rantlike\, or feels
something is not right\, please let us know.\n\nIt’s also the case that
not everyone will want to\, or be able to\, do every move within a dance. T
hat’s fine\, and no one should feel they’re being pressured into doing
anything they feel uncomfortable with.\n\nSome dances\, or some moves\, can
be quite fast or physically demanding – so make sure you and the person
you are dancing with are OK with that before you start the dance. It’s no
t OK to push or pull people around while dancing. Some people don’t like
to be lifted or wildly swung\, either\, so please bear that in mind too. Yo
u can always adapt any of the steps or moves to suit yourselves. Feeling go
od is more important than dancing perfectly.\n\nBasically\, look out for on
e another\, keep each other safe\, and have the best time you’ve ever had
