SUMMARY:Rant 5th Sept 2026
DESCRIPTION:Brighton Ceilidh Collective present an extra Rant with caller
Andrew Bradstreet[Please note\, the bulk of tickets for this event have bee
n bought as a birthday party. While we're running this as a normal ceilidh\
, a lot of the dancers will already know one another\, so it'll probably f
 eel a bit different.]\n\nSaturday 5th September 7.45pm - 11pm.One Church\,
Gloucester Place\, Brighton BN1 4AA\n\nPlease note. Dancing starts at 8.00p
 m. There is a bar serving drinks that include an ale.\n\nOur ceilidhs are f
or newcomers and experienced dancers alike. Our callers pride themselves on
making first-timers welcome on the dance floor. They’ll tell you exactly
what you need to do.\n\nCome alone or with friends. Don’t worry if you d
on’t have a partner for dances that need one. Just stick up your hand and
it’s our caller’s job to find you someone to dance with.\n\nIt’s imp
ortant to us that our ceilidhs are inclusive. The people who come to our da
nces are lovely – at least we think so. Please read our Welcome to Rant -
also included below. Please take a minute to read our Terms and Conditions
  before purchase.\n\n[tt-event url='https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/n
 ew-session/id/8203039/chk/c153/?ref=website_widget&show_search_filter=true&

 ' bg_fill='false' show_logo='false' inherit_ref_from_url_param='' ref='webs
ite_widget']\n\n\nFAQ\n\nWho's welcome?\n\nEveryone! Our ceilidhs are gende
r-free and inclusive. Our caller will talk you through each dance\, so it d
oesn't matter if you've never been to a ceilidh before.\n\nCan I bring the
kids?\n\nWe recommend 12+ for our ceilidhs.\n\nWho are Brighton Ceilidh Col
lective?\n\nWe're a group of friends who've been putting on public ceilidhs
in Brighton for over ten years. We believe that ceilidh is a great way of
bringing people together\, friends and strangers\, in a joyful environment.
 \n\nHelp. I can't come. Can I refund my tickets?\n\nAs our Ts & Cs say\, ou
r tickets are generally not refundable\, but if you know you can't come let
us know as soon as you can and we'll try get you a partial refund for your
ticket by reselling it. We can only do this when we have the capacity. We'
re always trying to keep prices down for Rant so we HAVE to sell out to mak
e these events work. That means we can only offer partial refunds if we man
age to re-sell your tickets before the event.\n\nWill I be photographed?\nP
lease note. We sometimes take photos of our dancers for publicity purposes.
It’s very understandable that not everyone wants their photographs appea
ring publicly. Please let a member of the band know if you don’t want you
r likeness shared in our publicity photographs.\n\nCan I share my photos of
the dancing?\nOf course\, but please only show faces of your friends. Some
dancers may not want their photos to be shared publicly. \n\nWelcome to R
ant – please read.\n\nRant\, and all other Brighton Ceilidh Collective ev
ents\, are set up to be fun\, friendly and welcoming social spaces for ever
yone.\n\nWe don’t have many rules\, but the ones we have are important. T
he main rule is to make sure you and everyone else enjoys themselves. We wa
nt everyone to feel safe and happy at our events. Cheesy as it sounds\, one
of the things we love most is to see everyone grinning helplessly as they
dance around the floor…\n\nWe have gender-neutral calling\, so anyone can
dance with everyone\, at any time. Note that even if you come along with a
partner\, some dances will involve changing partners.\n\nMost people come
to Rant to dance – that’s what it’s for. Some people like to chat and
socialise too\, but not everyone. We ask that everybody respects each othe
r’s personal wishes in this regard.\n\nIt goes without saying that we als
o don’t tolerate any inappropriate behaviour or insulting language. We kn
ow our lovely Ranters are better than that\, but if anyone witnesses anythi
ng un-Rantlike\, or feels something is not right\, please let us know.\n\nI
t’s also the case that not everyone will want to\, or be able to\, do eve
ry move within a dance. That’s fine\, and no one should feel they’re be
ing pressured into doing anything they feel uncomfortable with.\n\nSome dan
ces\, or some moves\, can be quite fast or physically demanding – so make
sure you and the person you are dancing with are OK with that before you s
tart the dance. It’s not OK to push or pull people around while dancing.
Some people don’t like to be lifted or wildly swung\, either\, so please
bear that in mind too. You can always adapt any of the steps or moves to su
it yourselves. Feeling good is more important than dancing perfectly.\n\nBa
sically\, look out for one another\, keep each other safe\, and have the be
st time you’ve ever had.\n\nBrighton Ceilidh Collective
