SUMMARY:Rant 2nd Oct 2026
DESCRIPTION:Brighton Ceilidh Collective present Rant with callers Anthea Be
 asant and Kate Holland\n\nFriday 2nd October 7.45pm - 11pm.One Church\, Glo
ucester Place\, Brighton BN1 4AA\n\nPlease note. Dancing starts at 8.00pm.
There is a bar serving drinks that include an ale.\n\nOur ceilidhs are for
newcomers and experienced dancers alike. Our callers pride themselves on ma
king first-timers welcome on the dance floor. They’ll tell you exactly wh
at you need to do.\n\nCome alone or with friends. Don’t worry if you don
’t have a partner for dances that need one. Just stick up your hand and i
t’s our caller’s job to find you someone to dance with.\n\nIt’s impor
tant to us that our ceilidhs are inclusive. The people who come to our danc
es are lovely – at least we think so. Please read our Welcome to Rant - a
lso included below. Please take a minute to read our Terms and Conditions b
 efore purchase.\n\n[tt-event url='https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/new
 -session/id/8511631/chk/5041/?ref=website_widget&show_search_filter=true&sh
 ow_date_filter=true&show_sort=true&show_event_filter=false' minimal='true'
 bg_fill='false' show_logo='false' inherit_ref_from_url_param='' ref='websit
e_widget']\n\n\nFAQ\n\nWho's welcome?\n\nEveryone! Our ceilidhs are gender-
free and inclusive. Our caller will talk you through each dance\, so it doe
sn't matter if you've never been to a ceilidh before.\n\nCan I bring the ki
ds?\n\nWe recommend 12+ for our ceilidhs.\n\nWho are Brighton Ceilidh Colle
ctive?\n\nWe're a group of friends who've been putting on public ceilidhs i
n Brighton for over ten years. We believe that ceilidh is a great way of br
inging people together\, friends and strangers\, in a joyful environment.\n
 \nHelp. I can't come. Can I refund my tickets?\n\nAs our Ts & Cs say\, our
tickets are generally not refundable\, but if you know you can't come let u
s know as soon as you can and we'll try get you a partial refund for your t
icket by reselling it. We can only do this when we have the capacity. We're
always trying to keep prices down for Rant so we HAVE to sell out to make
these events work. That means we can only offer partial refunds if we manag
 e to re-sell your tickets before the event.\n\nWill I be photographed?\nPle
ase note. We sometimes take photos of our dancers for publicity purposes. I
t’s very understandable that not everyone wants their photographs appeari
ng publicly. Please let a member of the band know if you don’t want your
likeness shared in our publicity photographs.\n\nCan I share my photos of t
he dancing?\nOf course\, but please only show faces of your friends. Some d
ancers may not want their photos to be shared publicly. \n\nWelcome to Ran
t – please read.\n\nRant\, and all other Brighton Ceilidh Collective even
ts\, are set up to be fun\, friendly and welcoming social spaces for everyo
ne.\n\nWe don’t have many rules\, but the ones we have are important. The
main rule is to make sure you and everyone else enjoys themselves. We want
everyone to feel safe and happy at our events. Cheesy as it sounds\, one o
f the things we love most is to see everyone grinning helplessly as they da
nce around the floor…\n\nWe have gender-neutral calling\, so anyone can d
ance with everyone\, at any time. Note that even if you come along with a p
artner\, some dances will involve changing partners.\n\nMost people come to
Rant to dance – that’s what it’s for. Some people like to chat and s
ocialise too\, but not everyone. We ask that everybody respects each other
’s personal wishes in this regard.\n\nIt goes without saying that we also
don’t tolerate any inappropriate behaviour or insulting language. We kno
w our lovely Ranters are better than that\, but if anyone witnesses anythin
g un-Rantlike\, or feels something is not right\, please let us know.\n\nIt
’s also the case that not everyone will want to\, or be able to\, do ever
y move within a dance. That’s fine\, and no one should feel they’re bei
ng pressured into doing anything they feel uncomfortable with.\n\nSome danc
es\, or some moves\, can be quite fast or physically demanding – so make
sure you and the person you are dancing with are OK with that before you st
art the dance. It’s not OK to push or pull people around while dancing. S
ome people don’t like to be lifted or wildly swung\, either\, so please b
ear that in mind too. You can always adapt any of the steps or moves to sui
t yourselves. Feeling good is more important than dancing perfectly.\n\nBas
ically\, look out for one another\, keep each other safe\, and have the bes
 t time you’ve ever had.\n\nBrighton Ceilidh Collective
