A workshop with caller Heather McAslan

Ever looked at a dance caller on stage, thought, ‘that looks fun!’? Join caller Heather McAslan in this callers’ workshop and try it out for yourself! We’ll talk through how to learn and teach dance figures, count steps and work with live bands. We’ll also touch on skills like reading a room and what to do if (when!) a dance goes wrong!

All welcome, whether you have some experience, or are completely new to calling!

Heather is a ceilidh, contra and balfolk caller with a decade of experience calling for public events, festivals, and private functions in the UK and US. Her first ever calling experience was at RANT in Brighton! All calling in this workshop will be gender neutral.
