Since 2014 Brighton Ceilidh Collective have been one of the lynchpins of the area’s ceilidh dancing scene, with our regular public ceilidhs, known as Rants as well as playing at over a hundred weddings and parties.
We pride ourselves in being open to all dancers, experienced or not. It’s not worrying about getting the dance steps perfect, but instead offering you the freedom to throw yourself headlong into the party no matter how many left feet you may have. Ceilidh is simply the best way of getting together and letting yourself go.
Our talented musicians play a mix of fabulous music from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales as well as awesome tunes from much further afield.
It’s about the fun of people dancing together, whether they have known each other for years, or just met at the ceilidh. Over the years we’ve put on Pirate Ceilidhs, Burns Night ceilidhs, and even Star Wars ceilidhs.
Between February 2020 and July 2021, we were unable to perform live but we still managed to do a few virtual ceilidhs.
We’ve worked with some incredibly talented and lovely dancers, musicians and callers, and hope to meet more in coming years.
